Check out the trailer for Awkward Black Girl Season 2! I can’t stop watching and laughing!!! I seriously heart Issa Rae for this!!!
An interesting quote…
I tried to respond to this post but didn’t realize tumblr limited your characters, lol! This quote below is the exact opposite of the truth because to me, A jealous girlfriend is an UN-FAITHFUL girlfriend. If she can’t handle someone having your attention for a brief glance or look, then she’s insecure and will get that attention from wherever she can. If she’s secure she knows that whatever has your attention for that brief moment, means nothing compared to what she has with you. However, if it’s got your attention a little too much, a secure woman will kick you to the curb instead of seeking attention elsewhere because she knows her worth. Only two insecure people thrive off of making the other one jealous for attention sake.
I saw this earlier today and I thought, when it pertains to women, it could possibly be true.
“A jealous girlfriend is a faithful girlfriend. If she doesn’t get jealous when someone has ur attention it’s because someone else has hers.”
I thought that was a very interesting quote, simply because it really made me think. A genuinely thought provoking quote. Ladies? thoughts??
For some people, being successful in what they’re doing just isn’t enough. I’m the type of person that’s not satisfied unless I feel that what I’m doing is helping someone else.
I mentioned in my vlog that I beat myself up for choosing a career that, to me, was so self-serving and I didn’t see how it could help anyone else. I also defined helping someone else as actually, physically doing something. I never thought that my ability to make someone laugh or inspire someone could actually HELP them.
I’m a spiritual person, love me some Jesus! Lol! So I prayed a lot about “finding my calling” or my purpose. I kept looking for things I could get involved in or do to help other people, which is great, BUT, that doesn’t mean that’s my calling. When I saw Rev. Run’s tweet: “Your calling is what you do with the least amount of effort…”, I got inspired to share that with other people because I JUST recently figured out that it was okay for me to love what I’ve chosen as a career because my ability to put a smile on someone’s face may be all the help they need. Now, does that mean I’m meant for the screen and stage? No, BUT I do think it means I’m supposed to use my ability to make people laugh for someone else’s benefit other than my own :)
With that being said, while I was on my “search” to find out what God put me on this earth for, I came across some very inspiring topics through One Church International. It’s a church here in LA. Toure Roberts is the pastor. He posts all of his sermons on Vimeo at: vimeo.com/onechurchla and there are five videos that helped me with this particular subject in general. Two of the videos are Pastor Toure himself, two of them are from a night at One Church with actress and funny lady Niecy Nash and one video is of motivational speaker Tony Gaskins.
On another note: Although this church is made up of a huge community of artist, the message can be applied to anyone. So whether you’re a musician or a mathematician, you can find a message in it that applies to you! I hope this helps!! xoxoxo!
